Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day everyone. I have to say my kids had a great day. I have 3 kids ages 4,6, and 9 and for Valentines Day they each got a huge heart sucker (all-natural) and a chocolate heart filled with chocolates (organic). My 4 year old, Emily said, "Mommy you have to sell these, everyone would love them!" Then after a few more bites she said, "Mommy this is the BEST Valentines Day ever!" Good thing that I did sell them, many of them. I hoped that everyone enjoyed them as much as my kids did. Yes, they were on a sugar high and when they eat more tomorrow they will have a sugar high again, and thankfully Monday they have no school because they will get a 3rd and final sugar high! (They didn't get to eat it all at once, it was TOO much!)

I bet after they see their Easter Baskets filled with Chocolate Easter Bunnies (Organic), jelly beans (organic), and Yummy Earth lollipops they might just declare it the best ever! Hope you all had a great Valentines Day that will not be easily forgotten!

Zootons

So, as of today Sugar Coated Organics is in partnership with Zootons to start to liquidate their extra inventory. It is a great deal for our customers and a great deal for Zootons. They are even including shipping when someone buys just their product. If you don't know Zootons is an organic gummy candy with no artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup. Add to that they are vegan!

As owner I am also excited because Zootons will be promoting Sugar Coated Organics to all the Kiwi readers. There will be an e-blast going out to all their readers letting them know that they can get their Zootons with us. 8 boxes for only $14.99 including shipping is really a great deal, I might pick some up for my kids for a special treat. My favorite is the sour ones but as soon as I open a box of them my husband starts to eat them!

Christmas is over - what next?

Thank you to everyone that made 2008 such a great year. We have grown beyond what I thought was possible and that is thanks to all of our customers.

But, we are getting ready for the next holidays and I am SO excited. Our Valentines Day chocolates are wonderful. They are milk or dark chocolate (organic fair trade of course) hearts that open and have individual chocolates inside! If you just want simple we have individual milk chocolate, dark chocolate or dark chocolate cherry truffles hearts. Plus we have some all-natural BIG heart suckers. These lollipops are going to make every child swoon.

Thank you again to everyone that made it such a great start for our little company and I look forward to growing with all of your support in 2009.

Holidays = Organic Candy Canes

We here at Sugar Coated Organics are starting to get our footings. Orders are coming in and all is going smoothly. Christmas is coming and we want to be ready with special candy. The boxes of chocolate look YUMMY but... what about Candy Canes. We found some organic candy canes that look like - CANDY CANES. After some internal debate we purchased close to 100 boxes of candy canes and crossed our fingers. Well, at the start of December we are almost sold out! December 12th we are completely sold out and sorry that we will not be getting more this year. But it sure was fun watching them fly off the shelves! I can't wait to see how many we will order next year!

Sugar Coated Organics - Green Halloween

Well we are starting to promote and what better way then to stuff endless bags with products provided by Green Halloween.org plus add our own. We spent hours getting these bags ready. They went to 2 preschools in town, the entire first grade - all 8 classes, a second grade class, a third grade class, a preschool in Chandler, AZ and my daughter. The image above in just a few of all the bags that went out.
This was a fun family activity that we all did together. At the very least many kids will have some organic treats on the big day instead of just junk. Some of the many items put in are Crayon drinks, a little candy bar, some Yummy Earth Lollipops, some Yummy Earth candy drops, some coupons for future purchases of those products and others.

Sugar Coated Organics- how we started

July 31, 2008, I took my middle son to the doctor because his mood were up and down and up again. The doctor talked to me, looked at him, and said, "here is some bi-polar medicine and please come back in two weeks for some ADHD medication." I wanted a better way or at least I wanted to try anything else first. The thought of my 5 year old boy being on medication for the rest of him life was upsetting.

So, I did what we all do - I went to the Internet. I looked and found many stories about moms who changed their child's diet and saw great improvement. I thought that it can't hurt. So I cleared the entire walk-in food closet and the entire refrigerator and freezer of basically everything. For those who don't know me - I shop in bulk. If 1 is good then 10 on sale is better. This was allot of food. I went to stores and started shopping, I purchased everything I could find that said organic that looked like something my family would eat. After about 6 weeks there was a change. My son was a different boy. He was more balanced, less angry, more consistently happy. That was it - our family was now an organic or all-natural family.

Then I realized something. I wanted sweets for our family. I wanted to be able to give the kids gummy bears, cotton candy, or a candy bar. All the things that are special treats - not everyday things. What happens on Halloween when the trick-or-treat and I have to throw away all that candy? What about Christmas and candy canes?

I went back to the Internet. Yes, there were a few stores in my area that sold organic candy but it was SO expensive and I didn't want to drive 30 minutes each way to get candy. There had to be some where on-line. I looked but I couldn't find what I needed at a good price. Sugar Coated Organics was born. With help from my sister-in-law for the website set up http://www.sugarcoatedorganics.com/ was ready for customers.

I hope when people shop on http://www.sugarcoatedorganics.com/ they will find good prices, things that they can't find everywhere else in one place, and even more importantly ORGANIC OR ALL-NATURAL TREATS WITH NO JUNK PUT IN THEM.
